Need Help...Quick Response!!!

I'm trying to go up and pick up my Trazer tomorrow in IN(see this thread:http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=164221. My father in law has a trailer, but the width is 6'3. The owner said the Trazer is just under seven feet.
He measured it by himself and the Trazer is not at his location. He couldn't give me an exact meaurement. I don't want to bring a trailer and end up driving it back 5 hours.

I have a buddy of mine up the road who just switched to 20's and has a set of 245/70/16's off a 95/96 Tahoe. Do you guys think it's possible to put those on the blazer and try to run it up on the trailer? I'm not even sure if these wheels and tires will fit.

the size tires that are on it now are 32x10.5x15's

Leaving in the moring just need some quick answers!

thanks,

Bryan

I think your idea will work. Those 16" whells and tires should work fine to get it on the trailer.

Good Luck Bryan. Hope you have a safe trip.

Take the skinny/factory size tires with you. That should make up your difference. Throw the 32's in the back of the blazer for the ride back. Just any skinny bald/whatever tire will do. I ran into this with a friends F2rd and that's how we got it on the dolly.

Are you guys feeling pretty confident on your answer? Are you sure those 6 lug wheels will work on our trucks? I thought something had to do with the offset.

I just hate to drive all that way and not be able to pick it up.

Actually, you are sorta right... They will bolt on the rear but they will not go over the hub on the front wheels if I remember correctly. You will need a set of stock steelies from a 67-70 1/2 ton or the stock 4x4 steelies. The steel 6 lug rallies are too wide.

Other option, pull the driveshafts and rent a good towbar?

Good Luck!
Joe

6'3" ain't near wide enough. Give me a minute and I'll measure across the front of mine.

Looks like you need a trailer about 6' 9" for a blazer with steel rallies.

Hey Krue,

What if I use the 16 Tahoe wheels?

I just got a call from a buddy who measured his trailer 6'7.

Those Tahoe wheels are not going to work. You're also looking at at least 6' 8" in the front with stockers / skinnys on it.

A towbar would work but I wouldn't recommend it. If you do.. as mentioned, get a good one. I once had a bad experience when a U-Haul towbar I rented broke a chain pulling a Blazer. It was not a pleasant sight to see that thing pass me on the left with nobody in it! Talk about your slow-mo.. residential neighborhood, kids on bikes, folks working in their gardens... Thank God there was some road construction going on at the end of the road and it miraculously came to a stop without killing anyone or causing any damage.

I have a towbar I use now that I made expressly for the purpose... I drop the bumper and it bolts to the frame.

What ever you do be safe about it.

I don't think I can get down there in time

I don't get it some say they will fit and will roll up on the trailer and some say they won't.

What's the width of "GQ"?

On the FAQ board a thread that Krue started says they will fit

Are you talking about the 6'3 trailer or 6'7 trailer?

he did, and those wheels above are off my 67, so they would work, if you had them

If the trailer has sides, make sure the lockouts are high enough, I also know this from experience.

ok i have a set of blazer axles out their with what i believe are 31x10.50's and it will not fit on the 6' 3" trailer at the widest point it measured 6' 5" and if your buddies trailer has sides from the bottom of the lockout you have 11.5" of clearance and i was wrong my trailer is 6' 10" hope this helps

Yeah, the trailer I hauled my blazer on was 6'9" wide and I had rallies on it. I had to remove the hub locks cuz they were against the rails and I was scared I was gonna bust them.

That's the spirit!

When I went down to Phoenix to get my Panel, it fit on the trailer just fine, but half way home-actually right on Boulder Dam-the fuel pump went out on my f@rd company truck I was towing with. I nursed it into Vegas for the night (this has happened to me twice, same thing on my wife's focus. F@rd fuel pumps don't seem to go totally out when they fail, you can still get about 20 MPH for awhile) Next morning, it seemed to run ok, but after a hundred miles it was the same thing-20 MPH, so I called my friend for a rescue mission and he met me in Beaver, Utah. We put that f@rd truck on the trailer and he towed it and I drove the Panel the last 250 miles or so.

Sounds like a plan. Just take a chain and a tow vehicle.
