Radator interchange?

hey all.

i'm afraid my rad might be leaking, where i attempted to repair it by soldering. i don't know for sure, but it looked a bit damp when i started to fill it up today.

so, in a worst case scenario, and the rad is leaking, and it happens that i can't solder it up some more...

could a later model radiator work?

reason being, is that we have a '82 C-10 out back, sitting on a '76 frame, that my Dad put together in the early 90's. the radiator is good in that. if my calculations are correct, the size is *pretty* close to being the same..

so.

anyone have an idea on this>? opinion? suggestion?

anything would be appreciated.

thanks!

-Sam.

Re: Radator interchange?

I think they might be close, but I remember something about the lower neck being angled differently that makes it a pain.

Sorry bud, but that's all my old mind can conjure up.

Re: Radator interchange?

no problem Bill.

that's a pretty good answer for me. maybe it's my up bringing, but in times of desperation/necessity..."close enough is good enough". .

thanks again!

Re: Radator interchange?

I ran a 76 Monte Carlo radiator in a67 for several years.I "think" I used an accordian style hose.
