1979 k5 blazer 2wd

guys i got an old 79 blazer 2wd with a 305 with 2 barrel carb the motor has 300,000 miles on it so i want to restore it my dad brought it new its white with tan inside would like to go back with red inside..

is it worth rebuilding the 305 or go gm goodwrench 5.7

Go with the 350 unless you really want to keep it original. The power difference is more than noticeable. Plus, you can get a crate motor 350 for less than $2k and have a reliable and strong motor. Wouldn't be a dragster, but it would be a good running truck.

how hard would it be to put a 5.3 or 6.0 carbed
