Fuel line ideas for stock '51 tank
Anyone using a stock tank in there 47-53 truck? I am looking for a good way to run fuel and return lines to my stock tank.
Idea 1: Use the stock fuel pick up and then drill a hole next to it for a return line Idea 2: Use the drain at the bottom of the tank for a fuel line and the stock pick up for return. Any reason I should do one over the other or a better idea that doesn't involve relocating the tank? Thanks in advance |

When I thought about doing that I was going to use the bottom of the tank for a fuel supply to an external electric fuel pump and then put the return at the top like you said. After hearing about the noise of externals and not liking the fuel in the cab idea I opted to move to a rear mount thank so I never tried the original idea.

Re: Fuel line ideas for stock '51 tank
I'm doing an LS swap into a 1970 Nova. Not wanting to spend $500+ on an EFI tank/pump, I did idea #1 and used one of those AN bulkhead fittings for my return line connection.
The project isn't running yet, so I have no clue how this will work or if the pump will be too loud. |

I am not sure how your tank looks but I bought a weld in fuel ring that is made for the LS1 style pumps when I was planning for my swap. I bought it for $100 some bucks from vette works. Ended up not using it if you need it. I swapped to a different EFI tank that fit my truck and just swapped out the fuel pump.
