68-72 Step Side Rear Fenders (driver spare wheel)

BLAZERMAN HAS FIRST SHOT AT THESE.

I've been holding on to these for about 4 years. Nice OEM rear fenders with no typical Northern rust.

The drivers fender (White) is borderline mint. One of the nicest I've seen. Has the spare tire cutout for long wheel base trucks (both 8 and 9 foot long step beds). $400.00 plus shipping

The passenger fender (Blue) is equally rust free, but has a few small dents as seen in the pictures. $300.00 plus shipping.

Hmmm....what state are you in? (I'm assuming Wisconsin but I never like to assume).

What would you charge to ship the driver's side fender in a crate to 25832?

Let me look into that more. It might help sell all the stuff I have yet to put up on the forum. Do you have a Fastinel near you? I hear they are cheaper if the item fits on a pallet.

I had a fender shipped in a crate once from Montana and I had it delivered to a local car lot. I could probably get it delivered there or perhaps to another lot. I had tried Fastenal but I don't think they (the local one) did that.

I didn't forget about you. Building a crate isn't 1st on my priority list.

Most people will not build a crate, I however, will not risk another damaged fender without one.

Two year ago a seller on this forum SWORE "all would be OK" if she was allowed to ship a fender in a cardboard box. Well, she was wrong. Fender was badly dented by UPS.....looked like forklift damage. Never again.

What kind of crate? 1x2 and 1/4" plywood? Or heavier, like 2x4 and 1/2" plywood? I also would be sick if something happened to a beautiful OEM part.

I was actually expecting 1/4x2x2 inch steel tube.

2x4 and 1/2" plywood sounds better.

I had a fender shipped in a crate once and the shipper used the mounting bolt holes to screw the fender down to the crate's frame. That kept it from moving at all.

When I built two crates for a fellow member in Canada, I installed screw eyes and tied the door skins down to the floor of the crate, after protecting the edges with old towels and rugs. For floor and top, I used 1/2" plywood and 1/4" plywood on the ends. As long as you build it to take not only abuse but the morons stacking other things on top of it.....as you know some jackass will do that.

If I had more money coming in cypressbog, I'd jump all over this, but it is for a LWB right?

My truck is a SWB but I want to one day buy a LWB.....

If you still have it in a few months I might could do something with you.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, it's for a long bed and they aren't available aftermarket.

I'm thinking about building a crate to ship it.

You are welcome. How much you have to have for these (minus crate build/shipping costs in crates)?

Hey,

I just came across 4 pallets long enough to mount a fender. Let me know if you're still interested.

Yes I am still interested as I do not like to back out of anything I've said before.

I will make a note to message you later today.
