Post axle flip shock mounts

What is everyone doing for shock mounts after an axle flip? I'm almost ready to do a notch in my suburban (which it badly needs), and I'm going to build extended shock mounts too. Does everyone do the bolt-on extender? I'm thinking I'll either cut the original ones off and make new ones that weld to the axle, or I'll modify the ubolt plates to mount the shocks off of them.

This is from Switch Supsension but it's for a Dana 70HD so I am not sure what is different for a half ton.

I ended up making my own, i liked that more than the bolt on extensions.

If you have the ability & equipment to weld your own stuff, I'd go that route. When I did my 74swb, I used the aftermarket kit extension brackets that bolted to the OE housing brackets. Never cared for that arrangement. To help the process, I usually search for online pre-fabbed brackets & pick the one that best fits my needs. That's how I did my Square-body Duallys carrier bearing set-up as well.

In your case, I would also see if there's a possibility of raising the upper mount @ the same time. That way you can set-up your upper/lower mounting points for best travel length, angles & convenience.

How was the ride with drop shocks? i've always read you lose a lot of the ability for the shock to dampen and perform how it should.
