Need Help with value on buy

Hey guys, I found an add on Craigslist for a 69 C10 4x4. First 4x4 I'm thinking of buying in a long time and need your thoughts on what you think it is worth so I don't overpay. The add says:

C-10 short bed step side box. 1990 Mr Goodwrench 350 V8, rebuilt oak bed, four speed, low gears.

I will attach some pictures in the next couple posts. A little help on what you would pay would be great. Thanks guys.

Re: Need Help with value on buy

Forgot to say. He is asking $4200 USD but I'm sure will budge a little. It would be a 20 hour round trip so I don't want to take any chances on getting fleeced. Thanks guys.

Re: Need Help with value on buy

To me it appears to be in fairly good condition according to photos, but we all know photos can be very deceiving at times. But his price of 4200 seems to be fair and in line with what he appears to be offering. As most sellers do they add a bt of cushion into their asking price for haggling, I would make him a fair offer and see where it goes from there

If the truck is as solid as it looks I'd pay the 4200 if that is what you have to pay. Did you sell the green and white one?

Re: Need Help with value on buy

Yeah, I got the green and white one into Canada, but I didn't look close enough when I bought it. There was too much rust underneath hidden by undercoating I didn't notice. When I went to do the out of province it wouldn't pass due to the cab supports being rusted out. I sold the truck to some guy in Edmonton who wanted to do a ground up restoration for what I paid. Lost a couple hundred bucks in gas and GST, but live and learn. Need to look a lot closer this time around. Very nice truck and would have loved to keep it, but my budget couldn't afford the rust repair

You'll probably check this one over a little better.

I'd love to park that one next to my 70 Hugger orange Longhorn. Well worth it IMO.

Is that a bear cage on the back ? LOL I wouldn't lowball him too much, but I would say he probably allowed a bit of wiggle room from what he would take.

Re: Need Help with value on buy

Make sure it's not a cut down long box. If it's an original shortbox 4wd I'd pay 4k for it, anything cheaper is just icing. That is if it's as solid as it looks in the pics and there's no hidden major issues
