Thumbs up She's finally gone.

After being torn down for 1 year and 4 months, my truck is finally off to the paint shop! Here's the frame on the painter's buddy's trailer and I had the front clip and cab on my trailer. I've got a guaranteed completion date of 3 weeks from today - I'm crossing my fingers that that comes true. The painter has a lot to accomplish in three weeks but he said it will be done. He will finish sanding what I didn't get done, prime and then paint the interior, door jams and back of cab, then he will reassemble and paint the rest of the truck. He promised to take lots of pics and e-mail them to me, so that is great for me so I can watch the process proceed.

Needless to say I'm all and can't wait to get my truck home. I will have to put down carpet, get the heater back in, gauges installed, seats installed, plumb engine, prepare it to fire and a few other things so I doubt I will be running for another good month but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally!

Oh, and about my frame being pulled by a Dodge, that's just fine with me, at least she is on the way

I decided I will go with a very light silver metalic. The painter said he thought we ought to add a little blue pearl to it - he said that would really look good over the silver metalic. Don't worry, I will post progress pics!

SWEET!!! I am gonna be sitting on the edge of my seat for pics Mark!!! Mine is gonna be ready for paint in exactly 2 months I am doing all the body work and paint myself tho. I can't afford to pay the body shop the $1500 they want to shoot the paint on.
Your truck is gonna look amazing!!

Cool! It's gonna be nice to see it back on the road again. I'll be up when it gets home so I can see that paint up close. Get the Bud Light ready! LOL!

That's where my 4X4 should have been, instead of on a trailer to Louisiana. You must be proud, thats many years of work to get it to that point.

Can't wait to see it done, it is the inspiration for mine, you know. I bet you'll have it back on the road a couple of days after it gets back from the body shop, seeing all that new paint will have you out there day and night to get it all together.

Thanks for all the kind words, it has been alot of working getting it this far, but I like that kind of work, nothing like doing something like this yourself. I just wish I had the time to learn and paint it myself but I finally came to the conclusion that I didn't have the time to do that. I only get out to my barn to work late in the evening three or four nights a weeks, so what should take an afternoon, takes me a few nights to get done. It is good stress relief though! I should have some pics in the next three or four days.
