Matt_KS's 70 chevy SWB

Well lets start off by saying that i bought this truck just before me and the wife got married in Sept of '03, It started life as a short narrow but i have always loved the looks of a SWB. I have been around these trucks all my life, and i mean all my life there are baby pics of me in my dads '69, but enuff of that.. My plan was to build a daily driver, (but when have these ever been just a simple daily) and as i tore in to it i found that it was alot worse then I thought, so i steped back and drew up another game plan. So i have bought a 4/6 drop from ECE and a 5 hole disk conversion form CPP, a new cross member for the trailing arms to bolt to from ECE, Needless to say Its tured in to a full on Frame off.... so on with the pics, somewhere I have lost the pics of it when i first bought it but I will find them and when I do u can be sure that i will post them!

Re: Matt_KS's 70 chevy SWB

Well I know that its not a good excusse but im going to use it, Today it turned off cold and unforuneitly my shop is not heated and its freezing out there! LOL but anyways I went and talked to a sand blasting shop here locally and they have told me that they will charge me about 150 to blast my frame give or take a bit, given that the shop rate is 100 per hr. As of now that is all I have going on right now, but I will sure keep u all posted and things change!!!

Matt_KS

Nice project. I'm really interested in the dolly you're using for the cab. It looks like it is well out of the way while repairing outboard floor panels and rocker repairs.

Can you provide some additinal info and pics?

Thanks Gary

Re: Matt_KS's 70 chevy SWB

Its amazing how time flies when life happens.. I am now a proud daddy to a 17 month old lil girl.. And among other things i have had to put the truck on hold... Well i finally have made it to that point were i can dig it out of moth balls and start on it again.. Six years later and its coming together fast now... The 5lug disk brake conversion and drop spindle kit from CPP went together like a dream and the 4-6 drop kit from Early classic was a snap as well.. It feels good to be back out in the shop.

Re: Matt_KS's 70 chevy SWB

congrats on the little one! I know all about it, 2 of those in the last three years, they take up some time and funds! but worth it all. My truck seems to never get done either!! glad to see the moth balls have been swept away and some progress done. Glad to have you back!
