Windhshield gasket(s)

Looks like I'll be removing my windshield because I've got gutter rust. Can anyone recommend a place where to buy new gasket(s) at? I may take out the back window and replace it with a sliding window.
Thanks,
Joe

NOS is best but they are a crap shoot to find. Feeling lucky! After that Precision Rubber seems to be the best choice. Here is a link with a discussion on the subject.

Good luck.

Re: Windhshield gasket(s)

I got a Precision gasket for my '70 from GMC Pauls last year. Was happy with the gasket, and the service I got from GMC Pauls. The gasket fit great.

Re: Windhshield gasket(s)

After researching on this board, I bought Precision Rubber gaskets for both front & rear windows. They're still at the body shop, hopefully will be installed soon.

Re: Windhshield gasket(s)

Just put in a Precision gasket seal for Moldings, fit very well.
Make sure you have a Glass Guy that knows his stuff.

Precision without a doubt, they even supply Steele Rubber with windshield and rear window seals. https://gmcpauls.com/Pickup.htm

Re: Windhshield gasket(s)

So do you all recommend that I buy the gasket from precision and have an auto glass shop install it?

Yes, Unless you know what's involved, you will thank yourself having a Pro do it.

Yes and would add that the glass guy should have experience with classics— my glass guy prefers to work on classics and has worked on countless c10s, blazers, etc.

Re: Windhshield gasket(s)

Good advice above.... some glass guys are only familiar with newer glue-in windshields. Ours are very different.
