Sweet truck man! Good lookin piece to start with. I LOVE your '54. I've always wanted one and yours is (was) perfect. You going to keep this truck stock except for the PB suspension?

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

Spent some time getting the frame stripped clean of years of grime and oil leaks. Used engine brite, super clean, wire brush, putty knife and finished it with a wire brush wheel on my 4 1/2" grinder. I'm going to wipe it down with acetone and prime and paint it today.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

Well i got the frame painted and then the UPS guy stopped with my Dropmembers V3.2 front with arms and sway bar and the new Trailing Arm kit for the rear. I still have some more stuff on the way, hood hinges, bags, ect.. but this will keep me busy. Nate is a great guy to deal with, answers questions quick and puts out quality parts.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

You're making great progress don't stop now! It's not that hot! Get out there and get those Porterbuilt products installed! I'm only saying this cause I have no money to buy the rear trailing arm kit for my truck! And seeing pics helps me from being completely depressed! Very nice ride! Keep them pics coming!

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

You got it. I cut the frame for the rack notch's, tacked the notch's to a piece of angle on a flat surface to keep them true while welding them in. Then primed and painted frame. Next few days i will be bolting on the front kit. Its not that hot compared to what nate's going through in Mesa..

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

I used a Rustoleum pro gray primer and a flat black enamel after hours of cleaning and wire brushing also a wire wheel on my grinder then cleaned it with wax & grease remover.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

This project looks great! Can't wait to see the final product.

Although, I can't believe you're working in the shop with sandals. A friend of mine worked in his shop like that everyday until a motor stand tipped over...He ended up with about 9 pins sticking out of his toes and foot.
