Door Speakers vs Kick Panel Speakers - Pics Welcomed

I currently have speakers behind the seat and I'm deciding if I want to put in kick panel speakers or install round speakers into the doors below the door panels. What your opinion/preference ? Maybe there is a better solution for front speakers that you have come across? I am ears...

Thanks

I have the Kick pane speakers from LMC, I really like them, the only complaint it crowds my Door's Rubber seal and tries to push it out of place. but besides that I am Satisfied.

speakers mounted in the door need protection from the water that leaks past your window seals if you ever get caught in the rain. I live in the desert ( a place where it does not rain) so it doesn't matter but If you don't want to mess with trying to protect the speakers of get a set of waterproof ones for marine use the LMC kick panel speaker mounts are the way to go.

Re: Door Speakers vs Kick Panel Speakers - Pics Welcomed

When I had my '69 I had 6x9's in the doors. I did have foam covers over them to protect from rain/dripping water.
I'm not a fan of cutting holes in the doors, but we do have little options especially if you still have the gas tank in the cab. 6x9's fit well below the door panel and can be made to look nice/professional.
I don't know if I like the kick panel speaker idea as it seems to crowd the E-brake pedal and the dimmer switch, but I don't have them.

I'll be following this post to see what others think

I'm interested too, keep it going!

What about that headliner with all the speakers built in LMC came up with?

I had kick panels in my old truck. They needed a little trimming with a dremel tool to fit, but other than that no complaints.

Don't cut holes in the doors! ! If you do, you ruined the doors and the "sell it value" will be the same!

Not in the doors unless the hole is already cut.

Any pics of the DS. I'm wandering how these kick panel type interfere with the parking brake and dimmer

Re: Door Speakers vs Kick Panel Speakers - Pics Welcomed

I installed some 3.5" speakers in the far outer ends of the dash and they fit perfectly, and sound great.

Re: Door Speakers vs Kick Panel Speakers - Pics Welcomed

I have the Classic Industries kick panels that came loaded with 6.5 inch Pioneer 2-ways. Just fitted them yesterday, all I did was mold them to fit with a heat gun. The driver's side is really close to the parking brake pedal, and I will probably bend the pedal about 1/4 inch for better clearance. The dimmer switch had to move to the right about 3 inches as well to be usable. Even with those issues I still like them.
