1968(72) Blazer Rebuild!
Hey guys ive never really done this before but I figured I might need a little help so I thought I would start a thread here..
So I built this blazer from the ground up about 3 years ago and last week my wife wrecked it =[ I need a few pieces to get her back going and I am doing the work myself again to hopefully put a few shinier parts back on. You might notice the sweet custom dakota digital dash with up to 4k rpm max.. Man what v8 do you know that only goes up to 4k?? None... This thing has a 4bt Cummins!!! and blows black smoke all over the place!! while getting a measly 25mpg in fuel economy.. First thing is first... Pulling the front clip and getting things cleaned up put back together.. WTB 1968 front clip.. anyone know anything about these guys on ebay? Boy, she wrecked it good!! Did she hit a sign? It kind of looks like two posts took the front out.
My in-laws live in Hurricane. I enjoy visiting them a lot, it's a gorgeous part of the country.

Yeah Hurricane is very close. And you are right there is a lot of beauty in the red rock around here!! Thank you! Trying to source a front end so keep your eyes peeled online for me! =] |

Ouch! That looks like it had to hurt. I sure hope your wife is ok!
Never heard of that company that you mentioned. But that's not saying much. I always try to be patient and find original GM steel. Where did you get your existing front clip parts? Take your time and search this site. There are a lot of people/venders here that have a lot of first hand experience. (Both good and bad) Hopefuly they will chime in here and let you know what does and dosent work. Also, not sure what the rules are but try asking on the pickup section. More traffic there. Good luck and hope the wife is ok. Post what you find.

It sucks she wrecked it !!! I hope it all goes back together good ! Do you have anymore photos of how you got that 4BT in it ? what transmission and transfer case did you use?

That's why my wife isn't allowed to drive my trucks. She has wrecked every single car she's ever owned....

Haha yeah I do trust her driving.. She is one of the few who have driven the truck... But I might have to think twice before I let her drive it again...
That 67 front end has a little more rust than im wanting to deal with.. What do you guys think about LMC Truck sheet metal?? |

If you decide to go repop, check out tri pro. They may have changed their name to top banana. I think the thickness of sheet metal is greater, but make sure you ask what ever vendor you choice
You ll see cheap prices out there, but it could be a inferior product, Make your decision wisely young grasshopper

Top Banana is pretty well priced. From what I am reading they have some of the best reviews as well... I think I will order from them unless anyone has any other suggestions??

You may want to post in the body shop section of this board to see how today's sheet metal is. There is aftermarket sheet metal that will not fit well. It will take bodywork to get it to fit right. Fixing a small amount of rust on oem panels may be faster and cheaper.
