It will be great money spent, I love welding and the Miller machine has always been great to use. My tig welder is an AHP alphatig 201xd. So far, it has been great, but Tig welding is new to me...so taking the time to get the fundamentals nailed down.

Haha, heard that. I have found it hard to use either hand holding the torch to start out. But, after practicing and practicing my left hand feels more natural to hold the torch and my right hand to feed the filler rod. There are a ton of consumables for a tig torch as well, and different torch sizes. I am very green at it, but am enjoying the challenge. I bet you will like it as well. I’m ready for warmer weather so I can paint again.

Re: Cab floor replacement order

I appreciate all of the info on a cab floor replacement. I got my cab in the air last weekend and got the floor removed without any issues. I need to prep the flanges this week and hopefully install the new floor in the next week or so

Awesome! Looks like some great progress. Mine went right back in quite easily. Hope yours does as well.

Re: Cab floor replacement order

The new floor is installed! Took about an hour with three of us pulling, pushing and kicking to get it in place. I did need to trim the front corners off a bit to help it slide into position easier, but the fit once in place was very good. I had to slightly enlarge the bolt holes at the A-pillars, but where it met the front firewall flanges it lined up great. I took many measurements and the floor height is spot on to where the original floor was. However; when I hung my doors the bottoms just barely rubbed the lip on the inner rocker. Even though I put in the low hump floor it looks like that lip needs to drop about 3/16 to 1/4 of an inch to allow the door to have enough clearance once the rocker is installed. So, I will need to so a search and see how others fixed this problem.

So how much gap should I have when the door is closed and the outer rocker is not in place yet; is 3/16" enough?

Mine was roughly an 1/8", but it just depends on how close you are on your door adjustments. Could be closer, and you could have a larger gap at the top of your door. Its easier to nail once you get your lower A/B pillars on and can sit your rocker in place, then review your door gaps. Floor looks great though!! Nicely done.

No build thread, as I'm slow. I don't need a build thread reminding me of that lol. I have completed my passenger side cab corner, and am fitting the rocker now. All has went as planned and minimal trimming/tweaking. I did have to make a cut on my rocker towards the B pillar side, as the stamping on the rocker went up and almost made contact with my door bottom. I also need to purchase door seals so I can incorporate them into my door adjustments/tweaking. My door is close now, but could be aligned better. I am jumping around a bit. I have started work on my driver side cab corner as well, but didnt feel like welding/hammer/dolly/grinding yesterday..so I fit my rocker and burned it on for now.

Re: Cab floor replacement order

Driver side cab corner. The overall fit is a bit better on the driver side so far, but the rocker could make up for that obviously if its a poor fit.

Re: Cab floor replacement order

Are you using Tabco panels? I have found most Tabco panels are made in USA but fit poorly compared to oversees.

Yep, tabco cab corners and lower kick panels. My rockers are overseas. I found the cab corners fit pretty good, but needed tweaking just like any other aftermarket part. Which parts aren’t fitting well for you?

That stinks, sorry for the issues. I find that all patches require some fine tuning, but if you have to move bends entirely, makes it no fun at all.
