Another man touched my truck today!

This DOES NOT happen often. It's weird even seeing someone else sit behind the wheel.

Got tired of the rednecked LMC kit I put on the truck like 13 years ago. When they put it up on the rack they mentioned how terrible and boogered up it was (they were 100% right) so I lied and said it was on the truck when I got it

It was ugly, hung too low, was starting to leak, and didn't leave enough room for the rear to drop.

For ~$300 I got a custom made system from the ram horns back, they left me plenty of room for my drop and tucked it up tight. It's fully welded so no more leaks!

I drive my truck a lot, so I did not want it loud, so we went with "thrush"? mufflers. It's maybe 10-15% louder than what I had and sounds killer at idle but plenty quiet when she drops into Overdrive.

They tried to talk me into a chrome tip... but I don't like a lot of flash.

I'll gladly say this was done at Steves Muffler Shop in Greer, SC. So, if you're in the upstate stop on by, they do top notch stuff.

Exhaust looks nice a clean!

I had to go to the urologist last week for the "Woo woo WOO woo" exam. I felt much the same way (another man touched...) for the rest of the week.

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

Looks nice! Although I'm not a welded exhaust fan. I really love the nice wide band clamps. They seal as tight as a ducks ass and if you need to take the system apart for an reason it comes apart and goes back together easily. BUT if you ever need to take it off to do work, a nice clean slice can be put back together easily with a band clamp anyway...or welded.

I actually didn't know it was going to be fully welded... didn't think to ask, but now that it's done, I kinda like it.

That's not right!

I believe gloves were involved, but no lube, they kept the show family friendly

They were a lot gentler than I am... she's gotten the hammer a time or two!

What's funny is that I remember it taking me an entire day to get that POS LMC kit exhaust on the truck. They cut it off in like 3 minutes.

AND I bought that kit like 10 years ago, I think I paid $50 more to have this done than that stupid kit.

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

You saw my truck? You must have went by right when I just got there or just left. They had an empty lift and it was brought in immediately, and then when they drove it out I paid and left.

Have you joined the upstate truck club yet? We have a pretty big group and we meet once a month for lunch or a show, etc. This month we met at the Berea Car Show and next month is a scenic cruise through NC! We usually have 20-30 trucks come each month and our fall picnic had like 150 people show up. We try to move events around so people from different areas can make it and to keep it fun.

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

I have looked into the club a little but I dont think my truck is ready for a club yet and I am not sure it is ready for a scenic drive yet also. What do you have to do to join the club? And yes I did see your truck there.

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

I've had a lot of club members tell me they saw my truck. I drive all over taylors/greer/Greenville with it. Most people tell me they see it at lowes or on 29.

Nothing to join (well, joining the FB page will keep you up to date with what's going on). We don't want any $, we just want everyone to have fun. You don't have to have the truck running to go to events. It was started by Matt, Paul, Dwayne, Andy, and I meeting at quaker steak a couple years ago and then took off from there. Dwayne drove his BMW to events for about a year until his 69 longhorn was back on the road. I've driven my mustang to a few. LOTS of members have late model GM trucks that they bring as well.

We do sell tee shirts and stickers to help pay for the fall picnic. They're good shirts (mine have been washed at least 30 times and still look pretty good.) I think we're currently out of everything because we're going with a new design for this year.

This was our very first meet where we decided to see if we could get people to come each month (mustang is mine, back when it had the ole man wheels on it):

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

Well I first saw this and said to myself- "I can't wait to see what happened to this guy". Then I saw it was an exhaust redo. How lucky for you and the guy who touched your truck! Something to be said about a good exhaust system for sure.

Re: Another man touched my truck today!

I was rebuilding the front suspension on my Plymouth and happened to start breaking some tools (including a pickle fork and ball joint socket). Gave up at that point and paid someone to do it.

So like you it is a rarity for me to have anyone else touching my cars lol. It was stressing leaving my car at a shop for a couple days, just didn't like it lol.
