Q's about replacement outer rockers
I bought a repop outer rocker for my 71. There is no verticle metal for the weatherstrip to attach to. This is a vertical metal strip about 3/8" tall that the door weatherstripping push's onto. How do I get this piece. I think it should be part of the outer rocker.

Yes, it should be part of the replacement rocker. Can you post some pic's of what you have? Is the original rocker still intact on the truck?

I was just looking at Brothers, maybe the inner rocker has this vertical strip, they call it an extension??

Replacement rockers should have the "lip" on it for the seal to attach to. There are rocker "skins" that used to be available without the lip that are made to fit over the existing rocker. The ones that I have seen are very thin.

The outer rocker I bought is not a skin and it does not have the vertical "lip". In looking over the vendors sites it appears that the inner rocker might have it as they refer to it includes the "extension" but the pics are not large or clear enough to make that determination. I guess I'll just buy a inner rocker and see what I get.

TBone and JimK are correct, the outer rocker should have the lip for the door seal. I just got done replacing both sides of my cab inner and outer rockers, so I can confirm their answer to your question also.

The one I bought has a dii sticker, that's Dynacorn, right? Do you know a specific brand that does have the vertical lip?

looked at the orig rocker I cut out and it does have the vertical piece as part of it. So now the question is:
Does anyone know a particular brand that has this correctly as orig did? The Dynacorn one does not have it.

There are slip on rockers designed to go over the originals and they have no lip on them. Then there are full rockers that have the lip and are just like OEM. If you bought a OEM style rocker and received one with no lip they shipped you a slip on rocker panel. DII, Tri-Plus, and more make both the slip on version and OEM version. In my opinion the OEM version by Tri-Plus is best so that's the brand we carry.

I have one with the lip that I'm pretty sure came from LMC. But, IMO it's a cheap POS and I wouldn't recommend it
