New tires

Tomorrow I am planning on getting new tires for my k10, and I was wondering if anyone here has had the wrangler duratracs. I have been looking and they seem to be a good tire, but I was wondering if anyone here has had any good/bad experiences with them. I do not plan on doing much off roading with them, more or less in the snow. thanks in advance, you guys are all good sources for information on pretty much anything truck related!

Re: New tires

I don't have 'em but on another forum, they are very popular on Gen-2 Tacoma 4x4s. Have heard lots of good things and nothing bad about them. Not the best highway tire but a very good mild off-road tire including snow. If my Tacoma saw less highway and more off-road, I'd be running Duratracs instead of Michelin LTXs.

Re: New tires

Huh, thats funny, I heard that they are great on road too, but im not too concerned about that since I have dual flowmasters in my truck as far as noise goes at least.

Re: New tires

Not that Duratracs are bad highway tires, not at all. Just that there are better choices for all-highway use.

Re: New tires

well, I got the tires and so far I am very impressed! they get great traction in the snow. I am able to fly across the lake at about 25 mph trough snow drifts in 2wd no problem! but only time will tell if these tires will last

Re: New tires

I don't have an opinion on them, but you asked for opinions and you will get alot of them, good or bad. Don't get discuraged on your choice, since you already have them you'll either like them or you won't as time goes on. Have fun on the lake...

Well Wow,... this will take a bit to answer... LOL... mostly after the truck sits for a couple days the tires get a flat spot on them... But I threw the tread off of one of them with only about 200 miles on it... the tires dealer is a friend of mine so I went in and he stated... really another one?... then he showed me a stack of them sitting behind his business that had been adjusted within a 3 week period... Then he told me he was stuck with them because Goodyear told him they were not going to warranty them... The other thing is I had several flat tires with them... That is the short of a long line of story...

Re: New tires

okay, I was just wondering what to expect, but it can always be just a fluked mold for the tire that causes these issues, and the line of tires I bought have been around for a decent amount of time, so I hope that they have these problems fixed

Re: New tires

I hope they work out for you... On my daily driver truck I run Hercules Tires and I have Cooper Cobras on my 67... My wife's car has BF Goodrich G-Force Sport...
