I bought mine in May. I have replaced the engine with a completely rebuilt balanced and blueprinted 350 with all new accesories from fan to clutch, new tires and wheels, new brakes, new interior. All the body work is done, I have two coats of paint on it right now and will have 4 by the end of the weekat which time I will start color sanding and buffing. I hope to have it polished by next weekend. Then I'll put all the new chrome I have for it on. Should be finished by the first week in October. I try to get 3 hours a day in on it. Beats the hell out of watching television. How do people do that?

Mine will never be "done"...I mean, I'm already planning the real frame-off restomod 10 or 15 years down the road, heh! While mine's not show-quality, it's plenty done to go to a show, and be in it, if you don't mind somewhat scratched paint and a ghettofabulous interior

I hope to do a frame off some day, but not for showing. Beauty contests are not my thing: I want the truck to be "new" so it will last for another several decades/multi-100,000s of miles.

Depends on your definition of done. Probably never. At this moment done is staying on the road for more than a day or too. Hopefully I'll be "done" enough by next year so my wife doesn't feel embarassed to ride in it or for me to drive it. But I figure I got a good 3 or 4 years of piddling around with it. Paint next year would be the big hurdle for me

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Think we should just set a date. That way as many people as posible can have their trucks road worthy, may not be done but can get it to a show. I can drive my truck right now, but who known in a few months I (hope) will be doing a tranny swap, but if we have something planned, i can either move it forward or back so I could make it. Anybody agree?

Realisticlly, I want to be done for spring, But I'm sure I'll take a lot longer than that. I will be happy if it is completly done (body, Paint and Drive train) by the summer.

It seems so far away.
