New guy has question
Hello guys, new guy here. Been reading your post for a couple months or so now. Have purchased three trucks recently, 67 and 68 short step chevys and 70 long fleet 3/4 ton chevy, to start my collection. Planning on combining them to make one or maybe two good trucks. Starting work on 67 frame now. Question is this: Converting to five lug. Taking advice from other post, I have the front end parts from a 73 and plan to just swap everything out. But what abt rear? Whats the easiest way to convert this? Been on the hunt for five lug rear from later year, but can't seem to locate. Have seen a few here and there, but for leaf susp. Need coil. Is it possible to just swap axles? Or can I even get five lug axles for a 67 rear? Any help here guys?

Welcome from Ill! you can order a set of axles from http://www.moserengineering.com/ for about $260. Due to the width differences, the 71-72 axles cant be used in the 67 rear diff. good luck ........Crazy AL

If your good with a torch I understand you can convert from leaf to spring setup. I'm not.

to add to my question above: am I correct in thinking that 71-72 rears are the only ones with coils and 5 lug? 73 and up are all leafs right?

Yes, 71 and 72 only ones available with coil and 5 lug. 73+ had leafs

There is an adapter kit avalible to make 73 up rear ends work with coils. You can get it from Chevy Duty, I'm sure other places carry it too.
