78 k5 blazer 3/4 ton axle swap

Any help on what I'm going to run into when i do this and does everything bolt up. And I have my choice of a dana 44 front or a 60 front and my choice of a 60 rear or a 14 bolt rear which would be the best to have.

60s and 14 bolts do have there limits though. People think they cant break. They can and do, but it takes abuse that 99% of the people dont want to put their truck through.

The blazer is going to be just for fun off road, no street driving, mostly it will see mud. Not sure if the 14bolt is full or semi floating.

What tire and what tire size? How much horsepower? How much vehicle weight?

Re: 78 k5 blazer 3/4 ton axle swap

The blazer is just stock now and I just bought it about a month ago. Picked it up for $800 bucks. The trans and transfer case were both shot. I picked up a transfer case off of craigslist for 75 bucks and I built a trans for nothing. I put them in on Saturday and got to drive it for the first time. It runs ok but need to do a tune up and see what happens. The reason Im going to do the axle swap is because the dana 44 thats on the front right now is missing all the inners on the left side, and looks like what i need to fix it is going to cost me like 200 bucks. So i can get a set of 3/4 ton axles for $400 from a friend.
