Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

After installing the Tee...I came up with a better idea...I used a four-way, and used the 4th port for the pressure switch. Less wires, and cleaner install.

The leaders are just laying in the ports, I ran out or 3/8 to 1/4 bushings, but you get the idea.

Not yet...I doing all the hard stuff first.....

After all the valve are done, next will be the new aluminum fuel tank, the notch, and finally the shock mounts.

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Looks great. Thanks for the good work!

I noticed reading that several people had questions on the front bag mounting brackets. Those brackets were not from FBI but from Suicidedoors. I think the cost was around $50 for the pair, which is upper and lower brackets.

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Im back with a few more pics....The wife pissed me off last night, so I left to blow off some steam at the shop....

I mocked up and temporarily installed the aluiminum fuel tank...

Here is the cool tank....
-

-
and the crossmember to be removed....
-

-

-

-

-
Test fit...
-

-

-
I had to trim this corner of the crossmember (this Xmember will be removed later for the c-notch)
-

-

-
I used two of the existing holes, I reached in with a scribe to mark the tank....

Looks great. What size grommets are those and what size hole did you have to drill for them?

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Check it out.....
http://www.fbirides.com/
The gas tank came from Tucker's......
Hey chief, how do you like that 1 ton corporate 14 bolt rear end I dropped off at your shop? That's some real beef. Never gonna break that sucker. You can go ahead and cut the trailing arm perchs off (don't worry about the tube) the HO72 rear end to transfer over to the 14 bolt. Talked to Randy at Blackbirds trucks in Spokane. He has a sweet disc brake upgrade kit for that 14 bolt 8 lug that looks sweet.

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

I'm back (finally) with some more progress....Got a mess of pictures...so sit back and enjoy......

These are just misc. line mock-up, nothing much....

-

-

-

-

-

-

-
What I wanted to do was add a schrader valve to the tank, but I didn't want to add another tee (to keep it clean) so what I did is tap the elbow fitting.
-

-

-

-
By add this scharder valve, you can fill the tank with shop air (good for when servicing your truck at home, to avoid using your compressors)....or you can use it to fill tires, etc. from the tank using one of those clamp on disconnects...I always try to think ahead....

Thats it for tonight.....

I need to touch base with the owner and find out if he really wants the full KP notch, or does he want it cut down....Since his kit mounts the bags in the stock location (in place of the coils), you really dont need that deep of a notch, since the truck won't drop that low...and it would also save some space in the bed. But that is entirely up to him....

Thanks

I think that work looks great chief!
Glad to like the 14 bolt, that's beefy!
I talked with Justin last night. Heard you had a pow wow with him about the notch. He's thinking it over but should get back to you soon about his decision. I've given him my input about the suspension. Besides making it into one cool looking rig I'd like to use it occasionally as a tow vehicle.
BTW, are you going to Goodies tommorow?
