If all that grime kept it from rusting then it's a good thing

Well, got my Wittek Tower Clamps on today - I figured I had better keep the new style ones in my cab - just incase these fail or something.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Took a trip up to Kilgore, Tx for my first car show tomorrow with my brother. All registered up and will be #53 - which nets me a free T-Shirt (1st 100 get a shirt)!

I got a solid 14mpg on TX Hwys on my 275 mile trip. I think that is pretty good going 65~75 mph with all the little towns you end up going through on these state hwys. This is actually my 1st proper trip since having my carb rebuilt by Cliff's High Performance.

Speaking of little towns, as I was passing through Palestine Texas; I saw this 71 C10 Cheyenne 400 LWB on the side of the road! I had to double back and stop to have a closer look. A nice fellow named Brad owns it. I wished I'd had gotten a look at his SPID but that slipped my mind. She was in really good shape, hardly any rust at all.

Lastly, I love my new sliding window and my new vents over the door windows. Made for perfect comfort with yesterdays weather.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

The battery in my '69 was placed under the cab long before I got it. For some unknown reason, remote terminals were never positioned in the engine bay. So, I set this up this week. Now I won't have to crawl under the truck to charge or jump this sucker.

Sorry about the sideways pictures. I have no idea how to control that...if a mod would be so kind...

Travel dust and east Texas red mud all washed off. Truck tucked in my brothers shop for a over night rest before todays show in Kilgore.

Thanks Jiggers - looks like you wishing me luck helped me out on getting an award LOL!

Thanks ChevyGuyNC & Chevys4life!

Its just a little award from a Sponsor's favorite but I guess when there is 200+ entries its pretty good to get anything at all. There were soooo many great looking cars, trucks, and motorcycles... me saying they were "great looking" really doesn't do the entries and owners justice.

Anyways, I am still riding on cloud nine a day later!

I didn’t do anything other than I got it out of the shop and cruised to town for a quick wash.
