fuel pump starving for fuel
I have a 91 S10 4.3 Blazer with 179K on it of which I have put 100k on it. This spring I was having some issues with the engine and how it idled and ran. Short story is that I replaced the EGR valve, Coolant sensor and the fuel pump and filter. The engine returned to its previous form which at this point I believe was mostly due to the EGR replacement. The issue at present is that now when the fuel tank is at or below 1/3 of a tank the engine stumbles or dies under hard braking, turning or acceleration. This kind of issue didn't exist prior to the pump replacement unless the fuel level was at 1/8 or lower. I have pulled the pump again and inspected it. I tried repositioning the suction screen in a different direction, but it didn't seem to help. The old suction on the pump screen had the fitting in the center, but the new on is about 1 inch from the end. I bought a Delphi pump from GM and reused the old pump bracket. Any help would be appreciated as I am tired of driving like I am 80.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?

Re: fuel pump starving for fuel
No I haven't. I'm at the point of putting the old pump back in and see how it works. I just need to remember to not to put fuel in the truck.

Re: fuel pump starving for fuel
Have you tried rebuilding your TBI, mine had that issue and it helped out a lot, my fuel regulator was leaking.

No I haven't. The little Blazer has been ignored a lot lately now I have the Burban on the road.
