Here's what you've got to look forward to. These are Cibie's with 80/100W Hella's, 50 amp relays, and 10g wiring straight from the battery. Now you just need a pair of narrow spot beam driving lights wired into the high beams!

Thanks guys, that's exactly what my truck needs, much safer than the tobacco washed light I have now!!

So the relays make the halogens brighter, and you can upgrade the bulbs for even more light?

never knew they existed i wonder how whell they would work on turbo piping

Good choice on the Osram bulbs, high quality and no ricer bling! Are you using ceramic connectors? Might need them with the extra heat from higher wattage bulbs.

Ray's Auto in Marietta Georgia has them. He sells 50 amp dual 87 relays, relay connector kits, and ceramic H4 connector kits for DIY harnesses. Also sells complete harnesses. Cooling Lines

Time to make some aluminum cooling lines. 1.25" OD X 0.058" 6061-T6 Bare Drawn Aluminum Tube does not like to bend!

It must be annealed first and even then it can be hit and miss (as you will see...).

Rubbed with bar soap and heated with a torch until the soap uniformly darkens:

I liberal amount of lithium grease applied to the bender dies and:

One end done, time to do the other end...

and ...doh! Couldn't have happened on the first bend could it

Two more sticks are on the way for remaking that one.

You may have noticed the bead rolled into the end. I made this little tool for doing those:

I'm going to add some surface area to the "saddle" to reduce the indentation on the OD.

That other line shown is for the upper coolant line. Here's what I'm going for (lower line still needs to be remade)

Clamps will all be either T-Bar or Shrink-Clamps

Heater Lines

In related news... I put that heater line bulkhead to use. Though it is a beatiful piece, I chose to hide it as best I can. I played with a few different locations for the firewall passthru, but in the end this one won out:

Inside (not they do not interfere with pedals/feet)

and over to the heater core:

Now how do I regulate the heater temp. This Summit unit came with no provisions for regulating temp. Three fan speeds and that's it. What if i want some defrost without blasting the heat? Here's my solution:

Controlled by the existing dash lever:
Open

Closed

Cool idea on the tube beader. These ones from earls seem like a simple idea that would work but you have to buy one for every size tube. If its just one size you need then ok, but they would add up fast.

I'm not sure where I heard this, or what material it's used on, but the myth has it that if use fill the tube with sand it won't collapse.

Dry sand will stop the tube from collapse. Pack it in tight so there is no air trapped and cap the ends. I have seen square bent into tight radias with this method.

Cap with what? Welded caps? I do have a spool for welding Al. Just need to pick up a 2nd tank...
