Hopefully will be pre-oiling engine very soon and at least getting it running.
The new Lunati roller cam and Eddy heads are gonna sound good.

I ordered a new belts, ac condenser I need it first before I put the new bb radiator in along with the matching shroud.

I ordered nos dash speakers, derusted old brackets & painted them I am gonna keep stock radio I could care less about a high dollar sound system.

Probably gonna have wait til next year to finish paint job and drive it with primer on it for time being.

Re: What did you get done 10/17/10 edition Division playoffs edition

Put the 86 parts truck Rally rims and tires on my 92 K1500 and also installed the aluminum tool box and battery that came with the 86. Cleaned up the engine in the 92 and drove it around the farm some to get the bugs out (stink bugs to be exact). Next weekend I am pulling the trans from the 86 and installing it in this truck as the 92 is missing reverse.
Did an oil change on the 2000 dodge ram and did a 4 wheel brake job on my daughters 2002 impala. I was busy.

Re: What did you get done 10/17/10 edition Division playoffs edition

Around the house I spent the week trying to get my dining room ready to paint. We sold the old dining room set, so I pulled the mirrors off the wall, and found some 30 year old wallpaper behind them. The wallpaper was bonded on well enough to stand having 3 4'x8' mirrors glued to them. I pulld teh first layer off and added mud to texture them, and that's when the glue came unstuck, but only in spots. What a joy.

Truckwise, I traded my dually for a 74 SWB. I really like it. I put my '87 parts truck up for sale also, but I think I will cannibalize it a lot more before I let it go. I haven't seen a lot of action yet, hopefully some pics will change that come tomorrow.

Got the blazer up on jackstands so I can work on finishing putting it together.

Also went and picked my crewcab back up 1972supercheyenne. Had a nice little 'ride' on the way home. Thankful I'm still here and can kiss my children good night and crawl into bed next to my wife

Mowed a lot of leaves, a seasonal thing here that will last for awhile, finished the side racks for the new trailer and worked on the house. Cleaned up what was left of a garden and carved a pumpkin with my 6 year old as well! A good week-end.

Temps were near 80 today but colder weather is coming!

Put down earnest money on new 1852 square foot house. Got 12k off list price because the original buyer's financing fell through. Hoping we get approved for it! It'll be nice to have a place to work on my truck!

A little crazy to think about where I am at in life for being only 20. I count my blessings every day! The most recent of which was a 26k/yr raise at work! This is what is allowing us to purchase the house.

Did some fine tuning on my 15 month frame off restoration project. I still need to clean the frame and differentials of dust and dirt from sitting around. At this point I have 226 hours of my own time into it.

Re: What did you get done 10/17/10 edition Division playoffs edition

I was working most of the week on one thing or another, so I took today off to relax. First real rain of the year, so I gave myself a lazy day. Tomorrow is a day off again. Gonna demo the '05 for some customers of the shop that did the stereo system, then let my friend Nick have some seat time with the truck (he's a DJ and just finished a new mix and wants to listen to it with a "decent system")

Other than being lazy, I haven't done much. My insurance is paying for some work on the '05, so the whole roof is being repainted now, and my windshield replaced. Only downside is that I have to basically strip the interior and then reinstall everything. Just alot of work I'm not looking forward too...

WOW! That turned out amazing. You should be very pleased.

Lots of garage time for me this weekend. Saturday morning did front brakes on my wifes 07 Denali. With 38k on it the front rotors were grooved and warped but the pads were like new. I had the rotors turned and sanded the pads. I figure if the look like new at 38k I am not going to buy anything better.

Saturday afternoon I detailed my 77. I had not had it on the road since I recently detailed the front suspension so it was time for a shake down run. Its a good thing I did since it had an issue with the brakes that almost turned to disaster.

I noticed the pedal pressure was rather firm once on the road so I made a mental note to check the vacuum lines to the booster. About 30 miles from home I let a car over to enter the freeway. Once he got over, he also let a car over causing us all to lock up. At that point I discovered my passenger side caliper didn't work forcing a hard left pull and I almost ate the wall.

After limping home with a smoking front wheel, I discovered the brake line had been looped when I reinstalled the caliper causing the rubber line to kink. Pressure couldn't get to the caliper to stop, but once it did get in it didn't come out to release. Pulled the caliper, rotated the kink out and we were good to go again.

Sunday morning I went to a Car-Truck-Bike show on Lake Livingston at Wolf Creek Park. The weather was perfect so I was able to entice my wife to ride along. We spent the day looking at lots of nice hotrods and enjoying a beautiful lake view. We had to leave before the awards, but my buddies stayed.

I got a text a little later saying I had won "Best of Show-Truck" which really surprised me. There were several really nice trucks there, and I had no idea I would take a "Best of" award.
