^^ this. Traditionally, a "rat rod" was a ratty looking pre-1949 vehicle. In recent years it has come to encompass anything which looks old, weathered and unfinished. Shiny paint & chrome need not apply.

Think I'll print this out and hang it on the wall next to my flat black '69 GTO.

Re: Let's see your 67-72 Rat Rods...

The truck on the first page[in post #24] was truly a rat rod no matter the year. I bought the truck without looking at it very well, just saw it sitting and told the guys son to load it up and send it to my shop on his rollback. After it got to the shop I opened the hood and there was the biggest rat[not a 572 either]waiting on me I guess. I about peed myself! But it but clean up and make some really great parts. Jim

Love it Josh.

I always thought 'Captain America' patina would have been sweet! It was crazy enough and old enough to be cool. I was heartbroken when the tiger interior was gone(not really)

Re: Let's see your 67-72 Rat Rods...

A lot of people think this is a "rat rod" because it is not painted. I call it the farm truck and prefer "patina"

Re: Let's see your 67-72 Rat Rods...

At last count I've got parts from 16 different vehicles on this truck, including Cadillac, Dodge, and Ford all the way back to model A. I don't actually call it a Rat Rod but a lot of people do for lack of anything else to say.

Thanks, but the glitter is not the look I am going for. I have a new pair of fenders for the front, and I'll finish blacking out the rest.
