Re: '67 Short Step #2

I finally got around to replacing the heater core. Did I install the heater core upside down, or are the hoses supposed to be crossed?

I also picked up some fuzzy dice and a sticker. Next week I plan on ordering the carpet and a dash pad and get started on the sound system.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

I have 2 heater assemblies out in the shop that have never been apart and the 3/4" hose in on the top with the 5/8" on the bottom.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

So I finally got started on my bed wood. I was going to use cherry but I didn't really feel like spending over $300. But I did find some Birch. I thought it looked neat (the grain looks awesome in person) and is still something different than your standard pine or oak. I'm not much of a woodworker but I will be able to finish the install with less than $75 spent. I will use a clear polyurethane to seal it up and really make the grain pop. Also doing hidden bed bolts. The houndstooth is a preview of my cordoroy seat cover I'm having made. And then of course, SKULLFACE the 2nd.

Thanks, I hope to have the interior completely finished in a month or so.

I finally completed my set of the elusive '67 only seat belts with retractors. Soaked them in Oxy Clean and then took a wire wheel to the buckles. I think they look good enough for me but I may dye them black. I got a better shot of the wood with the garage door open and a little sun shining in.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

Those seat belts are very cool, but something tells me that the fabric may not be up to par safety wise. Just tossing that out there...
