Haha!

I saw the z84 and thought that was the Highlander number. The parchment trim throws me off.

In this case Z84 on the SPID represents the Super Custom trim which was the uplevel trim option. The Plaid trim was an upgrade to and required both the Z84 trim option as well as a hard top.

Attached is a picture of the SPID on the one I'm buying, pretty sure it's a Highlander. The back seat has the yellow plaid the front seats are not stock.

It is a Highlander Plaid Blazer in one of my favorite combinations. Dark Yellow with Orange Plaid and a white hard top. Nice find for sure! :-)

If I get it home, LOL. Have to get it from Wyoming to New Jersey. Having a tough time lining up a car hauler. I'm actually considering buying a tow vehicle and a car trailer out there driving it home and then sellthe tow vehicle and the trailer.

Do you have any pictures of the dark yellow blazer? The paint code number is different than the ochre.

My 72 Highlander, in still confused why some actually say Highlander on the SPID? and did the Highlanders had to be ordered, or did Chevy just a few made and sent to dealers, mine was on the show room floor I wish it had the factory tach and tow hooks

Awesome truck! I believe if they say "highlander" on the spid they are typically saying "highlander plaid" or "avocado highlander" which is an upgraded seat cover option that could have been added to almost any truck or blazer in 72. The rest of the highlanders are promotional trucks (like your blazer) which came with different packages and options depending on what level you ordered. The spid on a promo truck will typically say "special promotional" and the RPO code to the left of the "special promotional" would determine what highlander package was ordered. Here is an excerpt from the first post in this thread:

In addition to the Highlander plaid trim your vehicle may ALSO have a Promo Package code.
These bundled options with the plaid trim for a cost savings in three packages "A", "B" and "C"
On the SPID they are coded:
YG6
YG7
YG8

Promo package codes.

A= YG6 Plaid Trim, Special Wheelcovers C10/K5 (PA1) or Chrome Hubcaps K10/K5(PO3), Door Edge Guards and Stainless Camper Mirrors (DF2).

B= YG7 (includes A) Adds Turbo-Hydramatic Trans., Power Steering and Tilt.

C= YG8 (includes A and B) Adds A/C and Tint.

Hope this helps,

To the best of my knowledge, the SPIDs that call out "Highlander" are seen on St Louis built K5s only. Flint build Highlanders have SPIDs that do not call out Highlander. The Flint SPID instead calls out “Custom Trim Combina(tion)”. Flint also appears the plant where the promo package builds occurred. St Louis doesn't appear to be the source for any promo package highlanders (or single wall tops).

Feel free to comb through the Highlander SPIDs to corroborate.

Guess I’m late to the party. Bought my Blazer at the end of 2017 and almost to interior. Here’s my SPID and the back seat which was all that was left of the stock interior beside the door panels

St Louis example - looks to have the white accent on the step face but the rear wheel wells are covered. Could be yours - on eBay now (not mine no affiliation): https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevro...UAAOSwNwpcsiCw

Has anyone purchased bulk fabric from SMS? I am trying to figure out the bolt length and pattern repeat?? My OCD would not allow for some of these offset patterns.....Notice the offset pattern on the orange set and the Olive pattern is what I am hoping to achieve.

I understand what your saying. My upholsterer told me to get 1 to 1 1/2 yards for my factory buckets but I got two yards as like you Ii wanted the pattern on both seats to be symmetrical and I have some left over. Picture is my seats redone.
