Anybody know where the vin # is on the frame of a 89? or if even has a vin on the frame?

Daverod,
the frame is stamped with a number. It is located on the top side of the pax side frame rail. Look on the frame rail above where the middle frame brace is. Hope this helps!!

Can you take a picture from further back to show where on the frame you are talking about? I looked on mine near both braces on the passenger side and didn't see any numbers. It is a 1995 though are they the same as the earlier ones?

I suppose it is state by state on what number trumps what.

62Chevy,

I have my cab and bed mounted so I can take another pix but I have a full shot of the frame.

I will say that I had to clean up the area in that location for the numbers to come up. There was the usual rust, dirt and grime. I wont guarantee it, but if you take a wire wheel and hit all the flat, vertical surfaces you will find it. My frame is a 1991 so thats all I can speak to but by law it will be stamped somewhere on the frame.

Thanks a bunch. I don't have that brace in the mid section of my frame like yours has so that is why I was confused. That picture helps a bunch. I will look in that area tonight. Thanks again!
