*UPDATED PICS*1968 C-30 dually with longhorn bed.....left today for paint.

Well..........its all mocked up, stripped down and out the door for paint. Going with the factory blue of the cab. One cab corner, 2 rockers and a new drivers front fender. Custom wide wheel tubs and possibly some color matched 4" wide rear "bushwacker" fender flares.

Ill keep you posted. It should be back at the end of the month (holding breath).

I am keeping the chrome grill face but painting it the same color as the truck to start. The painter said if i didnt like it we could blow it white later.

First rule broken...you`re taking it in and talking about it being done in the same thread.
I was going to vote keep it looking "as factory".But,if you do the wheels that way(a traditional truck guy thing to do),maybe think about the accent area in the grille satin black. With the stainless trim it will be mimmicked in the wheels.Just a thought.
Going to be nice!!

I have some tires that are a little bit narrower to suck it in even more......or I can go with wider and install the bushwacker fender flares I have that have been painted to match.

Great progress, wish I were that far along. BTW, what do you estimate the old flat bed weighs? Trying to decide what to use to haul it with.

Re: 1968 C-30 dually with longhorn bed.....left today for paint.

The C-30 is home from paint. We started to put some new (and a little old) chrome back on it. It moving along. I decided to let the paint harden a bit more before moving on with the rest of the parts......so I have now started on raising my front end (suspension lift) so there is not so much rake from the rear to the front. I got one side done today.

Check out the custom wheel tubs.....they turned out great!!!
