72 SWB Bed

I have a SWB bed on a parts truck I recently purchased that I was planning on cutting up for wall art. Since SWB beds are so rare ,I thought I would give someone a chance to get it before I ruin it. The bed needs a new floor. I would be willing to trade it for a cut off bed at the rear marker lights and the front bed panel. If someone wants to just buy it ,I will sell it for 250.00.
The fourth pic is what I am going to build.

Re: 72 SWB Bed

I knew i would regret getting rid of the beat up swb bed with a good floor... Your price is more than fair...Logistics are a problem...Do you ever make it to DFW Tx?

How about the other items I asked about in the original thread for parts from this same truck?

I love the wall art idea. I was going to do something similar with the extra 71-72 front grille I have.

Re: 72 SWB Bed

if you cut it, i'd be interested in that spare tire bracket if the bottom part isnt rusted very bad. i'm also looking for that floor fuel valve and bezel (you posted a pic in another thread) thanks

The carrier is pretty bad on bottom.I will take more pics .Not sure the value in its condition. It can be fixed. As far as the fuel valve, that is on a truck at a salvage yard. I will get it next time I am there. thanks.
I will post the carrier pics in my other parts thread where it is listed for sale.

Not really truck related, but I went to school at Grambling and worked in Minden back in the mid 90's. I had some good times off in the back woods of Minden, if you catch my drift. LOL!!

Re: 72 SWB Bed

The cut I made on the bed was just a test cut to see how my saw was gonna work. It is about a half inch on top of the bed rail.
I will swap the bed for a cut tail end piece and front bed panel if you throw in a decent tailgate or a decent CHEVROLET tailgate band. I will also need you to send me a 30.00 VIA paypal.
There is a thread on the 67-72 message board that shows how to build a tailgate bench that will show you where to cut the bed off.
Let me know for sure ASAP because I am going to the salvage yards Monday to buy a tailgate.

Re: 72 SWB Bed

Sure could use those sides but I know Coop can too. I'm sure he has a long bed he can cut up or at least the front panel. I have a long bed I could get the rear pieces you need if Coop doesn't have them. Either way, I know Coop would like to have that bed. So do you have a tailgate and just want one that's stamped?

If you dont have a tailgate or a band, I will need 100.00 (paypal) plus the trade. I will commit to saving the bed for you when payment is made.
