Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Would you believe I have that exact picture as my wallpaper on my computer? I am building a 48 right now and really liked the look of your truck. A I going a different direction on mine but I really like your stance and wheel setup. What kind of suspension are you running?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Thanks for the nice comments... The truck is sub framed from a 1978 buick regal. The rear-end is out of the same car. It has front and rear sway bars to help in the handling ..it handles like a little sports car. The drive train is 327 engine with double hump heads and a borg warner 5 spd. The wheels are obviousley the torque thrust IIs ..17x7 front and 17x8 in the rear. The color is just a satin green. I am no artist but I just took my time and painted the logo on the door myself. Thanks again and I look forward to talkin with you guys on this forum.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

My '52 is finally on the road after working on it for 7 long years. Since I planned on doing all the work myself in my garage, I decided to keep it simple and make it reliable by using factory GM parts whenever possible for the chassis and running gear.

It's sitting on a S-10 frame with "EXTREME" ZQ8 factory lowered suspension, front and rear sway bars and quick ratio steering box. I'm running a 350 crate motor with a 700R4 transmission and Camaro rear with 3:42 gears and 15x8 Corvette rallys. Body mods include; top chopped 1-1/2", wing windows removed and converted to 1 piece glass, front bumper bolts were shaved, and the dash, firewall and rear roll pan were smoothed. It also has the stock 20 gallon S-10 fuel tank, power windows and tilt wheel. I plan on driving the wheels off it this summer and finsh the interior, install bed wood, etc. over the winter months.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

After 5.5 years of effort we put our 54 on the road in July of 08. In July of 09 we had 12.5K miles on the clock. It is my daily driver. Still have the hood to paint, the AC to install and the sound system to finish but until then I driving it. It is nice to drive something different than the Camry or Suburban.

Even in Houston traffic people tend to make room for you when you drive something that brings a smile to their face and yours.
