Re: Cowl Hood Pics

Nice hood. I have had a few unlimited hoods and none of them were perfect. But for the cost, I couldn't complain a lot.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

There are lots of nice trucks. I used to love cowl hoods and want to put them on everything, but not so much anymore. I have never been to big on the 2 inch cowl hoods, they have always looked weird to me. I prefer the 3-4 inch hoods.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

If i knew what i know now about unlimited's hoods I would run,run and run some more. Mine is curling up like a old ladies knarly toe nail. I can slide my hand between the hood and fender with the hood latched. I paid 499 plus 80? shipping ten years ago and havent seen any better ones from them in recent years. In my opinion they are pretty crappy. I have the 4 inch btw. Looks cool fits bad. This pic is the good side, is worse now,(pic is 6years old) the other side is actually gapping open enough you can see the side of the engine.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

That's how the hood on my 70 Nova ended up and I had to cut it and redo it. It was no fun.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

Here is a 3" and everyone I have seen and help install has always been nice. We had one that had an issue and Harwood sent us a new hood and let us keep the blem one. It isn't 4", sorry.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

Here is just an example, but this would work great if you have a nice stock hood. I have used some before and I liked them a lot.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

The one I installed leaned out but I pulled the sides in and welded it so the sides stood as straight as I could get them.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

Or you could just make one like I did for my 96. This was the guinea pig for the one I am going to build for my 67 and get the unlimited hood off there.

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

that came out pretty good, but the 67 hood might be alot harder to do with the gigantic raised body line in the center of the hood

Re: Cowl Hood Pics

My 67 wont have the giant raised body line in the middle of the hood. I am cutting the center of the hood out and using the center of a later model hood with the lower ridge like on the 96 hood. It will basically look the same as what I did with this hood. Got all the pieces now just gotta do it.
