Re: Shipping a vehicle
Throwing this out there because folks are always asking who to ship a truck with. Well, I can only tell you who to NOT ship one with - "Dependable" Auto Shippers (DAS). Have shipped many vehicles over the past 20 years, and the only one worse was the one that never showed up (Angels Moving Autos... with a name like that I should've known I guess). Anyway, the company I work for chose this one, had no choice. First of all, missed a whole day of work because the driver "forgot" to download my truck to DAS (contracted) when he passed through TX. After a good deal of phone tag with them after them telling me they had no idea where the truck or the driver was, it took an "I'll be calling the police if I don't hear from you in 30 minutes with an ETA" message to even get a response. They thought it was no big deal to have me miss an entire day of work for a two hour delivery window. When he finally turned around, post brain fart, it arrived with black grease all over the side of the truck (handprints), the steering wheel, the parchment door panel, and the door handles. I can't believe it didn't destroy the seat cover, the one ray of sunshine. You know it's bad when you're happy about what they DIDN'T destroy. I gave them a piece of my mind, but they'll do the same thing tomorrow. Anyway, avoid DAS at all costs. The most unprofessional place I've yet to deal with.
