Question Window seals question

I'm in the process of replacing all of the window seals in the driver and passenger side doors. Does the outer belt (the one with the wiper and custom stainless trim) clamp between the outer door skin and the vent window post? That's the way it is now, but I am unsure if PO did it right, or if it's OEM. Looks like it might leave an undesirable gap between the outer door skin and the rubber where the vent window bottom frame beds into the slot in the door.

The outer fuzzie does get clamped in by the vent window frame.
