Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

This is what I use when the going gets tough. This is a 40 year old full page photo that was published in Four Wheeler Magazine. I still own the Jeep and it’s changed little. Still powered by a sbc and a 1954 4 speed Hydramatic transmission.

I like it. Good to see you've kept it all these years. I thought I have owned my bronco for a long time (22 yrs).

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

I'll bet your Bronco's a lot nicer though. I've been thinking about rebuilding the Jeep for a long time but it always gets put back on the back burner.

I've owned my 1970 c/10 for 35 years. It's now a 3/4 ton 4x4. I don't trade vehicles very often. I just modify them to do what I want them to do. The only problem with that is it ruins their collector value.

That is awesome jacobs! Is it driveable these days?

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

I guess it depends on your definition of driveable. I haven’t licensed it since 1980, it needs a new power steering pump, the headers are rusted out and full of holes, and the wiring needs to be replaced but yes it does start and boy does it run. If you’re not careful, it can easily get sideways on you.

That fits my definition just fine. What year is it?

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

It’s a 1945 CJ2A. The “CJ” indicates civilian Jeep. Most Jeeps manufactured in 1945 were military but after WWII ended late in 1945, Willys converted their assembly line over to civilian Jeeps. The exact number of civilian Jeeps made that year escapes me right now but I think it was around 200.

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

Great thread, I've been looking for ideas for my '67, and I want to do a stock style 4x4 look. These pics have helped a lot.

Anyone with pics of what is stock on the 67-68's? Here's what I have currently (on the left), but I would like to go to a 16".
The other pic is messing around as I was taking my snow tires off the driver, if memory serves a 245/75-16. I think a 16" would fill the wheel well much better.

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

Heres my 72 Cheyenne K20. All stock but the tires and rims. Tires are 305/70/16's. I'd like to go all stock, but finding rims close that shipping won't kill me is tough. I saw earlier in this post about 8 lug Ford rims that fit our trucks. Anyone have any info on them? Bram, nice truck, what color is that? Silver, Grey,? Semper Fi brother.

Here is what came stock on my 1967

I've updated it some since. It no longer has the ford wanabe mirrors. Now it has stainless center caps and has been cleaned up quite a bit. It is almost completely stock, and will stay that way for as long as possible.

MSgross; Looks like a good pair of 6 lug 15x8" stock style rims on the rear. Nice bonus and great looking truck. Wax her up, slap some ralleys on it and send me those rims for Christmas!!

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?

I actually gave the rims and tires to a board member (ScottH) for his parts truck. They were pretty rusty and I went with something newer. Truck is currently being taken down to the frame for a little paint and hopefully back together before spring time. I did get it running with a new intake and carb. She's going to stay pretty stock except for the disc brake upgrade and sport bumpers to shine it up a bit. Also came with NOS wood for the bed

I'm picking this 72 up next Saturday from Buffalo, NY. I like the stock rims and hub cap look, but the body lift will go
