Sub Model?

Any ideas how to identify the sub model? Im not sure if mine is a Scottsdale or Deluxe or blah blah blah. Inside is just basic. So ive always assumed its a Base but it has Scottsdale dash plate but i think the guy before me may of just had it put on after he redid the interior. Is there sure way to know?

Re: Sub Model?

Not a whole lot of difference between the bottom end truck and a Scottsdale. Here is what GM shows included with the Scottsdale trim.

Re: Sub Model?

I'm not sure how they were doing it in '81 but my dad ordered a '79 Suburban with the Silverado package. It was a stripped down truck otherwise, no air, no cruise, no radio, vinyl seats but did have carpet and headliner. I guess those were the days when you could actually order something the way you wanted it.

Re: Sub Model?

If the SPID is present and correct for the truck, it should tell you how it was ordered. Quite possible it was ordered at one level and had a few options added that were normally part of a higher level package. Also possible a PO added some stuff somewhere along the line.

Re: Sub Model?

Why don't you describe what you have or show pictures to help us help you? Scottsdale come with the upgraded vinyl seat and rubber floor cover.
