Tailgate support cable installation instructions
Here are the instructions that several members requested I post describing the conversion from metal tailgate support straps to cables. The pictures may not be in order but hopefully they still make sense. It will take two posts for all the pictures.

Ive got some recent pictures that might help some people out. I found the perfect bolts to use instead of grinding them down, they arent grade 8 or anything, but I think they should work. They are the bolts used for leveling cabinets and things, worked great. They have a very low profile head.
 You can see in this pic where you have to grind on the tailgate to clear the cable.
