Welcome to the forum. As for the body mounts i dont think there is a right or wrong way to do them. When i started on mine we just sat the '49 body (with the front end still attached) on the s-10 frame and centered the front wheels where i wanted them(front/back and side/side) then just measured and used 2x2 square tubing to make mine. Another thing i did was use wood blocks to help get the cab hieght by placing them on the frame between the frame and the cab. I like the way jeff51 did his, but mine are totally different.

Thanks alot, this is my first time doing a frame swap. Thanks again for the kind words.

Got my rear bags installed today. I set my frame up with re7's, but then decided to go with re8's in the rear.

I was just going to yell at you for no pictures. Here I thought you were working on your air stuff. Least you're gettin it done. Kinda hard to find a old bumper. New ones are easy.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

The motor is a 300hp/350 with a 700r4 for the tranny. I was going to go with a different set up for the carbs, but my friend that has the hot rod shop bought out a performance parts buisness and passed on the killer deal he got with this setup. As for the gas mileage, i bought a lokar progressive linkage kit for the carbs. This kit allows you to run on one four barrel until you really get on it and then both open up.

I bought some off of ebay (cheap). They are the ones for an s-10 V8 swap. I can post some pics if you would like.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

Alright that seems like what most guys are doing I was looking through threads and remember seeing one guy said they had a smaller diameter so he cut down regular sbc headers but I can't find it and just wanted a second opinion thanks looks like your project is coming along nicely

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

I am working on a 51 3100, but thinking on the S10 frame, there are plenty of them trucks around the house, would it take a long wheel base or short to put the 51 body on?, That 49 loooms real good to me, Keep up the good work man.

If you don't want to lengthen or shorten the s10 chassis you need to go with a long bed regular cab s10. They have a wheel base of 117 inches. Your 3100 should have a wheel base of 116 inched so should fit well.
