What size tires?

Getting ready to swap to 6 slot chrome wheels on my tahoe. I don't know what tire size to use. What do you think? Here a pic of the truck and the wheels I am going to put on it.

Re: What size tires?

I'm running the same wheels (with black centers) on my Suburban with stock size 235/75 tires.

If you want something a little wider, a 255/70 is still the same height.

I had the same wheels on a '99 Yukon with some 255/60s.

Re: What size tires?

I'd stick with 235/75 up front (stock) and go a little wider in back. Maybe 255/70 or 265/70 or even 65. Your speedo will be off a little, 1% at most. IMHO 275 is too wide on a stock 7 or 8 in wheel. BTW nice ride! Makes me miss my '98. Love that dark blue on Tahoes! You plan on dropping it any?

Nah. The 454SS came stock with these wheels in 15x7s wearing 275/60 tires.

Didn't know that, but I've never gotten a close look at 454SS. Thanks for teaching me something new.

You're welcome.

People make a common mistake by thinking that if you get a set of these wheels off of a 454SS that they're 15x8s and that all other trucks that got these wheels had 15x7s. The truth is that ALL of these wheels were 7" wide, including the 454SS. But yeah, the SS had 275/60s

you have to look close, those are the crap ebay pics, but it is dropped already. somewhere about 2/3 ish. for now it will stay there. I bought this truck to be a daily driver and a tow rig, including winter driving. But when I got it home and got looking under it. It's way to clean and rust free to ruin on the salty roads here in Michigan. So now I am going to have to run out and buy another car, and thats going to hold up the play fund for a bit.

i just picked up a set of the 6 slots tonight, and am going to go get them swapped tomorrow. i dont know about running a stagger. does anyone have pics of a tahoe like that?

i will run the 235/75's that are on the aluminum wheels for a while.

i really like the looks of the 255/60's on the yukon.

With it being a driver, I'd stick with the same size all around so you can rotate them.

I liked the looks, but they're considerably shorter than stock and without reprogramming, your speedo will read fast.

Re: What size tires?

I am happy with how it looks, even though it says GMC on the center caps.
