Re: Lowering 1987 chevrolet

You have a 1/2 ton truck? How low are looking to go? A dropped spindle (2 1/2" on most brands) will allow a full length shock absorber. A Moog 3/4 ton coil w/one wrap cut will net a 2" drop & be a firm ride. Aftermarket drop coils tend to be a softer ride, your option. On to the rear there is the shackle (1 or 2") and the front spring mount may be replaced w/an after market bracket to drop it 2". Modifying your stock mount is easy & reuse it. Flipping the rear end up on top of the leaf pack will drop it around 5" & there is a member who sells this bracket kit here on board. A shorter, high quality shock should be considered in any case.
