350 Vortec swap car. Intake question

Looking at running a 350 Vortec engine in my 84. Will my carb linkage and accessories bolt up normally?

You’ll need an adapter manifold - there is a lot of selection out there for carb conversions.

If your carb is the original Quadrajet, and you want to keep it simple, make sure the intake you buy is spread bore compatible. Some of the vortec conversion intakes are square bore only.

Re: 350 Vortec swap car. Intake question

If you get a high rise manifold like a performer rpm. Sometimes carbs don't like having the throttle cable at a angle. Spacing them up fixes the issue.

Your water pump will have to be changed to the original style. As all serpentine systems use a reversed water pump vs V belts.

If your looking for a little better cooling in the engine. Think about using a 4 corner cooling kit to help get air bubbles out of the back of the heads. It won't be easier to do then now.

air bubble problem i had was easy fix .

install a bypass hose like a BBC has just under the t-stat and all my girggling and temp fluctuations went away .

extra 3/8" port in front of the intake is just for this . then a 3/8" to barb fitting at 45* angle and a molded hose and a barb fitting on the water pump suction side on top and she was fixed .
