Have a 1970 C 10 it had the factory glue on door seals but they were worn out replace them with the LMC push on door seals and they were just too thick. The door wouldn’t close properly so I bought some Honda Civic door seals that are in about on another forum and they were too thick. Also, anybody else running into this problem, where can I get some thinner door seals?

I used Soffseal and had no issues.

You may have to adjust your door and fender out a little bit as it may have been moved in in the past. On my truck it was the front that was tight, not the rear. Also, make sure your door is centered in the opening. There is a "notch" in the front and if you are not centered up/down it can be a problem. There are some videos on line that can help as well. It's a common problem. Good luck.

I installed Precision with snap-on clips, and had to close the doors WELL to get them to latch right. For a while, that improved over time, which is common. If you have access to hot sun, leave the truck out a while, you'll see improvement.

My RH door soon came to a nice spot, but the LH just wouldn't close right over time. I adjusted the striker and added some white lithium just yesterday, and presto....finally, nice.

You need to check and tighten your door hinges now, and as needed until that door settles. Not a bad idea to check them on occasion anyway. I recommend a Snap On 9/16" S 9607 door hinge wrench for the pillars. $100 investment, but gets the job done easy and right too.

On my 69 I also used the Civic door seals. I did have to tweak the pinch weld rails in a touch to get the door shut just right.

A PO may have already bent/tweaked them too far toward the door causing things to be too tight.

After my Civic seal install, I had to bend a few spots toward the door to make a good seal.

A lot of guys including me have used the Honda seals. They fit really good and doors shut great. The part numbers are below.

72355-SVA-A01ZA For left
72315-SVA-A01ZA For right.
I think they are about $65 a piece. Well worth it. I have a truck that has new seals that are about 10 years old and still not sealing right. I’m going to change them out to the Honda seals.
