The list is long on this one... but at first glance:
Big blocks not available in any 4x4s in this era
Black vinyl trim not available in a Super unless ordered with bucket seats
(GM never made a black vinyl seat cover with houndstooth)
Has Custom Deluxe door panels
No gb door woodgrain
No dash woodgrain

Some of those may be cosmetics - but the claim that the truck was ordered with all this stuff is false - it couldn't have been. It is most likely a Cheyenne K10 (black headliner - which can ONLY exist in a Z84 Cheyenne trim level, unless a Super is ordered with buckets) - which would have been a very nice truck if someone hadn't gone crazy with the lipstick and buzz words.

Wow. Thanks for the info. Somebody may end up with something unexpected. That's a wild price, too!

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

We should be thankful for veteran contributors like jocko and others for posting the correct information about these GM trucks.
Thanks jocko, for setting the record straight on these for sale ads and auctions.
Critiquing can be positive and fair to correct misinformation.
I am always learning from this site about my 72 and the other 5 years.

Kind of amusing to compare these two Jarrett Backson trucks, injected 5.3 w/4L60 is FOURTY THOUSAND dollar upgrade. Is it just me or would you consider getting the emblems straight ( or even the correct emblems ?!) on the fenders and the cab-bed alignment correct a mandatory thing on a 110,000 Thousand dollar truck?! Oh, well, I guess it sold, so I have to eat that statement

But these are the guys "buying in" to the C10 craze and not "building in" like those of us on this site. Same guys who got drunk and bought a numbers matching, big block Camaro and a real Camaro guy points out all the obvious things that make it a fake.

These trucks were never meant to be collectible classics and I hope a purist never looks mine over very hard when it's done but for big money like some of those are going for I'd be a picky you know what.

Ha, no - lipstick is just fine by me - it's claiming that the lipstick was original and asking $80k for it that kinda gets under my skin..

Ken, was wondering the same thing. Perhaps a C10 lwb swapped onto a K10 swb chassis w/shortbed added. Or at least I HOPE someone didn't sacrifice an original C10 Cheyenne swb big block to make a K10. If they did, they likely lost money if it was an original swb big block Cheyenne C10. Who knows...

Driggs Idaho! I worked for the Forest Service outside of Driggs one summer back in 77 or so. I bet I saw it back then. It certainly looks to have aged better than I have.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I use these exasperating figures to explain my need to keep the garage full of my trucks. I just tell the wife they are worth bank and going up every day. I check the 70 swb 4x4 from time to time on NADA guides and OMG. It is just crazy. High retail is $82,000 HAHA!

Oh. My. Lord. It's like a two-headed Lincoln penny! The only KE10734 in existence with a CCE VIN - now that's GOTTA be worth a few extrat thou...!
Like I said, seller could've done a much better job of faking a Super. Didn't even properly fake it as a 4x4...

All that for an estimated $120K!!!!
All that money spent and none left for photography. To me it looks like they got one of their kids to take the pictures.

We agree with you whole heartedly on that truck, but the fact that we are on this site sorta' leans toward the mental help.
