Strange Rear Light Issue Help!!!

Running lights off; Blinkers good, brakes good. Running lights on, both good. Press brake, left light goes completely out. Left blinker does not work with running lights on.

Suggestions? (I hate trouble shooting electrical)

Re: Strange Rear Light Issue Help!!!

Poor ground on the left rear tail light socket assembly. Remove the tail light assembly, clean the mounting area, and double check the socket itself. As you loaded the tail light with both tail light circuit and brake light circuit the ground wasn't good enough to satisfy both at the same time. If the wiring at the socket contains a black wire that would be the ground but i doubt it contains a black wire, so the ground comes from the box. Good luck, Brian F.
