Finally after a year and a half

my truck will be ready this week. I bought it site unseen from an Idaho craigslist site. The guy claimed to be a body guy, and told me the only thing it needed was sanding and painting. I paid $2600 for the blazer and $1000 to have it shipped.

Needless to say when the truck arrived, it was nothing like the guy told me or the pictures suggested.

To make matters worse, i'm not mechanically inclined, so I would have to pay someone to do all the work. I was blessed to find a young guy named Billy Poston in Greenville, that was willing to take on my 'project'. He needed the money and I needed the work.

I will try to post some before and after pictures. Is there an easy way to post pics from my laptop?

Why did the blazer need a second paint job?

X2. Looks great!

One other thing, I don't know if you still have that open element air breather on there but if you do, get rid of it. If you happen to backfire through the carb they tend to catch on fire. Then you'll need a third paint job

I was thinking the same thing on the air cleaner... fire hazard waiting to happen...

Other then that, the truck looks good....

Once you got up close to it you could tell it wasn't a very good paint job. Plus my budget changed, so I decided to get something a little different. Going with the house of color silver metallic. I really just want something cool to take to the tail gates.

gotcha.... so just get one of the round ones? What is your opinion in changing it to a fuel injected engine? Worth the money? Thanks!

Re: Finally after a year and a half

Wow! Love the wheels. If it's been a year and half, I'd just drive it with the carb'd motor and not worry about the EFI, and maybe next year do the swap.

What a transformation. The guy who sold it to you should get beat for lying though.
You made the right decision on going silver. Black is really beutiful, but it gets real dirty real fast and it gets HOT real quick.
