This guy is a member, but I don't know his username. So this is a last resort to get this bozo's attention. I heard good things about him, so I hired him to shorten my 67 longbed, March 2010. He said it would be done by the middle of May. So about the first of May, he called & said it was about half done, but wondered if I would please pay him $1000 to cover his home rent. Well I had met the guy, saw his shop & work, & didn't think anything of it--& sent him a grand. Now you would think after that, I would be his best friend!! You can guess what happened. He stopped returning calls or texts . . . Finally in August, I threatened to report my truck stolen!!
What do you know, I surprised him one Saturday to pick up my truck. His dad, come to find out, owned the house & shop. He was as pissed as I was at his son & got him over to help me load my truck.
Well Robert, he is a sweet talker. I loaded the truck, which had been shortened very well I must say. But the bed was just exploded & not finished. He had a check for me for not finishing the work--I should have taken the money & parts & run. But, he convinced me again to leave just the bed, and he would finish it in a couple of weeks. I blew it again! Yup, shame on me.
Now of course he won't return calls, texts, because he says his job is taking him out of town and he is working too much. I don't know about you, but my cell phone works out of town.
I just want my bed back!! I can't even drive the truck without a bed!!! He won't even call or text so I can get it back!!
If anyone knows this guy, could you check to see if my blue bed is shortened, or even still there? I don't even care if it isn't finished--I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHEN I CAN PICK IT UP!!
Any suggestions would be great.

THAT, my friend, would be awesome. I hope his dad is working on it. I have met him a couple of times, seen HIS shop, and I'm sure it would be in good hands.
The only reason I don't show up on Christmas is out of respect for him (dad) and the rest of his family . . .

Just talked to Robert. He assured me that the bed is being worked on by his dad and that he would send some pictures if he could. If someone else gets by there, maybe you can send or post pics here!?

FINALLY GOT MY BED! He left it on a pallet in his driveway. (chicken****)
He had ruined the tailgate trim, and had left the bed completely apart. But at least I got it!

I couldn't be less impressed with this guy. Hopefully, someday he will grow up.

Robert, if you can't honor your commitments, don't make them! If things change, do the right thing.

I should have known better than to pay in advance, but when he called and said he couldn't pay his rent last May, I fell for it. If he was a man, he would give me part of my money back--SINCE HE DIDN'T FINISH THE JOB AS AGREED!
