New Truck

Been over on the 67-72 side since i joined, but i traded my 72 c-10 for a 93 crew cab dually. 5/7 drop with a 6.5 turbo diesel motor. Reason was because i got tired of going to car shows in two different cars. Not enough room in a c-10 for me and my family. So here i am.

Re: New Truck

very nice. but if youre up for a little constructive criticism... It looks like your bumper needs a little pursuading to line up with the fender.

It looks that way because that bumper cover was designed to line up with the Escalade fender flares/cladding, which '99% of clip swaps do without.

Re: New Truck

Thanks for the compliment guys. Yes bumper skin overhangs both sides of the fender by the wheel. But with an escalade front clip those sides always overhang with an escalade bumper skin on our trucks. Now if I want them to line up I have to trim each side. Which is something I plan on doing.

I'm always open to constructive criticism, as well as everyone should be. You might see something that I don't notice that will make my ride look better. So thank you.

I've never cared much for the actual Escalade bumper, so I have a '99-'02 Sierra bumper with my clip.

If it were my truck, the main things on my list would be:
1. Window tint.
2. Lose the bowtie on the grille and install a billet insert. Maybe a black powdercoated one.
3. Bumper: I would probably go with an '03-'07 Sierra bumper.
4. Since it's going to be used to haul the family to shows, some '95-'98 front buckets/console and rear bench would be a nice touch to add a tad bit more comfort on the road trips.

Do you have any rear pics?

Re: New Truck

1badgmc, my preference is a Sierra bumper, but the bumper skin is new and was a gift from the wifey so i had to install it. I will swap to a Sierra bumper once i damage this one. Its inevitable it hangs too low. Oh well. Heres a rear pic. Thanks again.

Well, you can't argue with that logic. Once the wife gets involved, ya know...

Very nice, indeed. Even got my favorite replacement tails. Keep us updated on anything you do with it. I'm interested to watch.

Re: New Truck

Will do. My plans are bigger wheels, looking at 19" direct bolt on, paint, and maybe bags. Maybe.

I want some big wheels on my dually someday, but it's in need of other attention that I can't afford right now before wheels. I'd love some 22s, but I'd even settle for some 19.5s for the load-rated tires.

A friend of mine just got a full set of 6 24s on his F-350. Color me jealous.
