needless to say NHRDA stop all racing packed up and left that day. and WILL not being going back to that track..

Ok...First ...it weighed 5000 lbs. The gaurd rails are to stop drag cars. 1500-3000lbs. Second it's like 6 feelt high???most drag cars are much lower.
Third...have you ever raced on a track after those diesels run? They spew out oily black smoke that covers the track.
fourth...did yousee the dually tracks?...what the hell is a dually doing racing on a dragstrip? those Non slick cars spining down track tear up the track.
I like that the diesels like to play like race cars...but don't blame the track...run them on the dirt...like what a 4x4 was made to do.

I have nothing against them either, think they are cool. But If I had to race in the next lane against something smoking out the track like that I'd load up my truck and go home. Imagine him in the other lane bracket racing leaving before you???????????

yep i saw that.. and at the top end of the track. probly when the guy hit N20 on.. obviouly you dont run with anyone that runs treaded tires at the track?

i deff expected a remark like that off a car forum..

the "road draft" tube is def something to be addressed. i can see where some oil could get on the track from that.

a mild tuning truck is doing ~500rwhp/1000rwtq

as for track prep.. has a big effect on how the trucks run.. i race my in hte sig. a poorly preped track i cannot do a boosted launch.. there is no traction what so ever. and 60' will be 2.3-2.5 and peddle it down the track..with time 14.7X @ 99mph a well preped track i can leve with 5psi boost and cut ~2.0 60' with treaded tires im same mph but almost a full second off the previous time... a well preped track you will bearly see those tracks reguardless of truck setup..

4x4 truck are easiy to launch and dont need much technec...

We have an anual diesel truck race at our track. Along with that they have a dyno race and a sled pull.
Street tires are fine up to a limit. When you start out with over 1000ftlbs of torque the street tires have no chance...even with a NHRA event prepped track.

The problem I have with the NHDRA is they have a different animal of race car. It started out in the dirt and mud and has migrated to a drag strip.

I have to tune my truck to work for different track conditions. Instead of dieles cranking up their Bullydogs to extreme and getting squirley, they could turn it down and hook...but they would rather smoke the hides the length of the track and brag.

yes i have been there. i went to the one last year in june. somethings dont make sence there... gravel pit area... that was my biggiest thing... then the 4x4 truck pick up the gravel/dirt and track in on the track...

yea 1,000+ tq is alot for small tires.. hence y i got 12.50 wide tires on the truck...

as for your last statement... i think you need to do more more research about them... yes it is stupid esasy to get massive reliable power out of a diesel and bullydog is a basic starter tuner yes soem have not quit grasped the traction issue yet

The track is under new management and they have plans to do away with the gravel...but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I believe the track champion in sporteman last year ran a diesel truck. He could run anywhere from 11.99 to 13.50.

Yup..im pretty much diesel illeterate...and plan to stay that way. My brain only has limited RAM space...and It's pretty full now...lol
