Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

well didnt get as much done this week/weekend as i wanted to, but I did get some stuff done, got the bumper grill hood latch, hood, pass side inner and outer fender, drive side inner fender and cowl off, surprisingly not nearly as much rust as i thought, only had to cut 7 bolts including 3 bumper bolts, the others were inner fender bolts cuz the speed nuts broke free on the fender. pictures time!

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

spent most of my morning at work looking at wiring harness pinouts for my LS swap... man this is not going to be fun but a couple headaches and a few days of working on and off is worth saving $250 to me

I see two positives to that, 1- you get a discount on your parts and 2- you get to know the people at the local shops which can result in more discounts or free advice

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

youre very right on both aspects dale!
Back to the subject at hand... I bet you guys are starting to wonder what have I been doing for the past 3 days... and you would probably expect me to say not much... but I got a lot done! (last night, the rest of the nights I have been slacking...) I got the driver outer fender off, both doors, bench seat out, started cleaning under it, also got the harness ready to come off the firewall, but not yet cuz I have to drive the truck to my other shop to take the bed off (only about 30ft away, but much nicer to drive it) because there is no room for the bed in my two stall garge where I do most of my work (its insulated, lot nicer to work in rather then the 20ft tall 30ft deep 20ft wide sheet metal pole barn when its cold out) anyways its pictures time!

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

here you go dale the only one I took the other day... dad is measuring the frame height from the gound to bottom rail on each side... they measure 1/2" different from left to right.... anyone have an idea where that half inch is? I dont see any attempts to repair body damage and its original paint as far as I know... the bed always seemed a lil crooked..... any help would be greatly appreciated...

Straighten the front tires out for one, that might help a bit, but it is known as the GM lean.

Kind of a typical thing. I know some have used spring spacers to level it out. Mine is less than 1/4" now with new springs, so I am ignoring it.

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

i have new rear springs. well theyre sort of new, when i bought the truck in 07 i put new moog springs on it, i have only put ~4500 miles on it... when i bought it it was slightly worse before the springs... and Dale the wheels were straight when he was measuring...
